LORD RODNEY CLARETS
Blackpool
After I nearly missed the train, we soon were on our way. The flag soon was put on display before we entered Blackburn, which was given a mixed response by onlookers.
The Taps was our first visit, and our best with a great choice. They even had a beer which reminded us a someone (Ken).
Then after several spillages, we arrived one way or another in Blackpool, what a waste of money too.
One in Wetherspoons and then back to the Rodney.

BARNSLEY TRIP
After meeting up at Nelson bus station bright and early, we managed to find our transport for the day. The first stop was Accrington. The news that some people missed the coach in Burnley gave is more vital drinking time so it was on to the Stanley. Expecting John Smiths, we were pleased to find cask ale in the form of Moorhouses Premier, which tasted its usual self.
After falling asleep for most of the coach journey i awoke in Dodsorth and was told off for not bring one of Stedders' guides. After some looking around we ended up at the Travellers Inn, Which ment we had to wait 10 min for them to open up. I did look through the window and found that Black Sheep Best Bitter was just about visable....... and was served to us all as soon as the time came.
Next stop was Dodsworth Social Club, this was decided as we had spotted a Sam Smiths sign. No old Brewery though, instead Ossett Moors Malts at 4.3%. As far as the line up so far, we decided this was the best of the day, with a "proper" dark amber colour and a distinctive body. Not one to keep knocking back though. Even our sole lager drinker Tinkerbell was satisfied with the Alpine Lager...
As time was approaching 1.30 we left back for the coach, And Ken went to the chippy....... and kept everone waiting.

THE MATCH
After the good start to the day with our beer finds we were all extremely disappointed with the lack of any alcholic refreshments at the ground.
The result tells it all.
Barnsley 1 - 1 Burnley
Two of us made the trip to Sheffield United..... Ken made us late again due to the night before. We just managed to escape the closing of the motorway. We were very boring with our choice of drinking location, but the selection was good. 5 real ales and 3 hours drinking. The automated ticketing was a joke mind.
